Wake up Oregonians its bad enough they dont trust you to pump your own gas! There is a bill in your backyard that may inhibit your selection when it comes time to purchase a fresh set of tires this season. Governor Theodore Kulongoski, the Oregon Speaker of the House has introduced legislation (H.B. 2186) to prohibit the sale and distribution of aftermarket motor vehicle parts if alternatives are available that “decrease greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles.” The bill is primarily focused on aftermarket tires and would authorize the Environmental Quality Commission to implement enforcement regulations, likely based on a rolling resistance calculation.
What Does this Bill Mean to You? A LOT!! For instance:

No this isnt a response to Cadillacs latest concept using internet lingo, its the actual concept itself. The design named the World Thorium Fuel concept was designed to showcase a car with almost zero maintenance requirements. The best part? It is designed to function for 100 years! The designer and creator Loren Kulesus nabbed the name from the cars proposed power source, thorium. Its number 90 on your high school science periodic table and with this design it is used to act as a nuclear fuel to power batteries that would cause the car to function.
Just how much more extreme could this car get? how about 24 wheels? Not its not sharing a Semi-Truck platform, but each corner lays home to six individual wheels side by side with their own power source. And that part about maintenance? Well the wheels are it! Every 5 years they would need to be adjusted, but never replaced or added to…. seems like a sweet deal to me, but then what would happen to Caddy Techs? Well i am sure there will still be enough Escalades around to keep them busy.

This was an interesting find. The basic idea is to purchase a Boost Mobile pay as you go phone, then buy subscribing to an application you can track your phone via a computer for an up to the minute review of where your phone is. Now if you were to take that phone, and hardwire it into your car, now where ever your phone is, so is your car! Its a pretty good idea and the total cost works out to under $10 per month. To read the entire Do It Yourself so you too can keep your car secure (or just check up on those who are borrowing your car!) Click the link to the forum below for the entire story!

This had disaster written all over it from the start. 1 Kid + 1 Camera + 1 Corner = Funny for us, crappy for him! The baby blue S15 front end does remind my of my s14.5 in its early stages, but i was able to keep mine out of ditches!

This should be enough reason to start saving up your old cardboard boxes. So for a few dollars in duct tape (i would recommend color matched for that extra classy look) you too can be ready to start throwing down pink slips and winning car shows. The sad thing is, someone will take this video seriously and try to replicate it…

Who knows why exaclty the TV series Fast Lane came to an end. Maybe it was the fact that the actors of a “car show” obviously didnt know a thing about cars, other than where the steering wheel is, or maybe its because those “cudas” with “nitrous engines” were getting harder and harder to come by:

With the price of oil going through the roof, Americans have seen an increase in just about everything. Food prices are increasing, commute costs are increasing, living costs are increasing, so then why are school days decreasing? It is true, some rural school districts in America have voted to remove one day of class for next years education term. This does not mean however that all students will enjoy three day weekeneds without penalty. No, unfortunately that missed day will have to be made up in the form of longer days the rest of the week. So why are schools doing this?
The answer is simple, to cut costs. School districts are hoping that by removing one school day they will be able to refrain from paying to heat the school an extra sixteen hours per week, as well as save on busing costs in transporting children to and from home. They hope that by saving money in these areas, that they will not have to resort to any loss in employment or cut back on materials for the classroom.
Will this catch on? Most likely no, as it is the rural districts who are already working with thin budgets that are feeling the strongest blow, but who knows. The extra day off would have been a welcomed movement when i was in school, although i would hate to be a parent who now has to make arrangements for my child’s supervision for this extra free day. Perhaps the best thing to do now is push for a four hour work week as well! I am all for it….

Ford sent its latest offering into the real world recently with this spotted version of there next generation Ford Fusion. The car is a little hard to get excited about since it is still a family sedan, but its interesting none the less. From this spy photo we can see that there is a new design for the front grille, but aside from that, Ford is not showing much skin on this next generation Fusion. Maybe once the body cladding is dropped we will see a sleeker sexier Fusion, but judging from these pictures, i wouldn’t bet on it!
